Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market & Craft Fair

Every year Birmingham pulls out all the stops with the Frankfurt Christmas market and this year it starts on the 17th of November and runs through to the 29th December. This is a truly remarkable German market with a lot to offer any inbound groups coming to Birmingham for a little fun.

This is the largest German market outside of Germany or Austria and its home to all kinds of alluring gifts to pick from. Here in Birmingham not only will you get access to the Frankfurt Christmas market but the adjacent Christmas craft fair as well where you will find beautiful handcrafted presents. Together they bring over 180 stalls with a nearly limitless amount of incredibly good ideas for Christmas gifts. 

 

Frankfurt Christmas Market:-

Every winter Birmingham lights up the largest German Christmas Market in the UK with over 120 stalls to choose from. These stalls have a huge range of astonishing goods and gifts available making it easy for you to find the right presents as you browse.

It’s here in the Frankfurt Christmas market that you’ll also find all the entertainment at the bandstand and as well as most of the available eating options. With all of this you could end up spending the full day at this Christmas market and you’re going to have an absolute blast.


Christmas Craft Fair:-

Of course there is a whole league of incredibly unique shopping opportunities thanks to the crafts fair including hand-crafted items from around the world.

This is perfect if you want something extraordinary as here you will find a huge range of handcrafted treats. This includes wood carvings, musical instruments, iron works and even things like soaps and cosmetics can be found here.


Food and Drink:-

Being a German market naturally there will be plenty of tasty food stalls alongside a few mouth-watering drinks stalls that are sure to put you in the right festive mood.

Our Favourite Food Stalls:-

  1. Sausage Grill - Serving the spicy red sausage with onions this is not a bad way to keep warm on your day out.
  2. The Crepe Stand - Here you will find French style pancakes with a range of exciting toppings such as eggnog and Nutella.


Some more of the traditional meal choices found about the market include bratwursts, roasted almonds, pretzels, schnitzels and so much more. These goodies go very well with one of the select German beers Gluhwein or Weissbier that you will find about the whole market.


Bandstand:-

What sets the Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market apart from the rest is the live bandstand. Here they bring endless entertaining acts and bands that will be playing throughout the market. This is the centre piece of the market and a good place to meet up with your friends or family as you enjoy some of the live music.

The bandstand will be playing acts throughout the whole Christmas market from the 19th of November to the 26th of December. From Monday to Friday there will be acts playing at 12-2PM and 5-9PM and from Saturday to Sunday they will be playing 6-9PM. For more info about who is on and when please check the schedule.

Top Tips:-

The Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market gets its most busy at the weekends and mid-day in the week. If you’re looking to slip in and out plan around this however if you want to make a day out of it we would recommend trying it at the weekend as there will likely be more going on.
