Ladies. Firstly well done for choosing Birmingham as your destination of choice, you have chosen well. As Britain’s 2nd biggest city Birmingham has everything to make your Hen Weekend one that will go down in girls nights out history I can assure you. With one of the world’s most famous 21st century shopping centres in the Bull Ring to the infamous Birmingham nightlife found on the likes of Broad Street and the Mailbox you really would be pressed to find a better venue. Here at Stag and Hen Birmingham we like to go the extra mile and help our Hens out with a little bit more than just where to stay and what activities to do. We like to give you Birmingham Hen Party ideas to help make your weekend stress free
Where better to spend your afternoon than shopping for the perfect outfit for your Hen Weekend. The Bull Ring caters for every ladies taste. With 160 shops from Primark to Selfridges you are guaranteed to find something to wow the people of Birmingham in. Centrally located there is no need to sort out travel. It is under cover so even if the dreaded British weather takes a turn for the worse, it is not going to spoil your fun. The Bull Ring also has an amazing food court so grabbing a spot of lunch to keep your strength up isn’t going to be a problem here. If you’re partial to shopping somewhere a bit more upmarket then get yourselves over to The Mailbox. Located on Wharfside street this sophisticated and stylish shopping centre is perfect place to end a shopping trip, Why? You ask. Because ladies you can get a lovely glass of vino in one of the waterside bars. The luxury stores include Harvey Nichols are fabulous as well of course. If you and the ladies want to escape the high street shops then fear not. Head on down to The Great Western Arcade this elegant shopping centre is overflowing with Victorian charm and is home to a wide array of independent retailers for those of you who are looking for something different.
Now ladies what better way to bond a group than over a bottle or two of red whilst enjoying a lovely meal before hitting the town. It really does depend what you are looking for, whether something cheap and cheerful is what suits the party or you are thinking more along the lines of a 3 course meal. Either way Birmingham caters for every palette.
Starting with The Mailbox - If you haven’t already been down to The Mailbox for a spot of shopping then you won’t have seen the wide selection of bars and restaurants this stylish complex has to offer. From Cafe Rouge to Cote Brassiere you really can get something for everyone.
How about something a little different and a venue perfect for creating a buzz in your party. Miyako Teppanyaki is a Japanese restaurant where highly trained staff cook your food in front of you using the unique art form of Teppanyaki. Along the same theme of entertainment and theatre but guaranteed to have even your mother in law dancing at dinner, yes dancing. Athens Restaurant is a Greek style restaurant where diners are entertained throughout dinner by traditional Greek dancers and you even have the chance to smash a plate at the end before you the restaurant transforms into a disco, meaning you dont even have to go anywhere else if you don’t want to.
So you’ve shopped and are looking stunning, you’ve eaten and have hopefully started the drinking. All the girls are sashed up and ready to show Birmingham what it has been missing all these years – ladies its Time to Dance and maybe show off some of those moves you learnt in a dance class earlier on in the day.
Where to go - Well this really does depend on what your looking for. If cheese, pop just general all round fun is what your after then head straight for Broad Street where you will find the likes of Reflex and Walkabout guaranteed for a good party. If R&B is more your seen then be sure to pay Bar Risa a visit. And if you just fancy experiencing the Broad Street nightime atmosphere but from a slightly classier establisment then be sure to pop down to The Living Room for a few cocktails before venturing elsewhere. There is always Brindley Place running alongside the canal underneath Broad Street perfect for a bit of outside drinking. If you’re looking for something a bit more upmarket then I would give a wide berth to Broad Street and head on down to The Mailbox where fancy dress is frowned upon (you maybe be pleased to know) If you and your ladies are more interested in the alternative music styles then The Arcadian is the place to be. Slightly more relaxed, located the heart of Birmingham’s China Town all the bars are positioned around a fountain where you can visit bars such as Loaf for a bit of soul or Arca for a bit of House music. When it comes to giving you Hen Party ideas, Birmingham really does have it all.
